The next clue is HeveaGro. This is an interesting company. The parent company, HeveaBoard use Rubber Trees to create particleboard. One of the byproducts of the process was the softer parts of the Rubber tree that was initially deemed as waste. The company then created HeveaGro to use this "waste" as a medium to grow mushrooms. Now that is diversification!

The process HeveaGro use is:
- Raw Rubber Wood / Lock is processed and Organic Wood Bark is created as a waste product.
- Nutrients are mixed with the Organic Wood Bark.
- This is then bagged in plastic bags ready to be sterilized for Mushroom growing medium.
- Spawn is cultivated in the dedicated clean environment.
- After the plastic bags have been sterilized it is inoculated with the spawn.
- Next is the incubation room where the Mycelium is allowed to grow.
- The process then moves to the fruiting room.
- The final step is cleaning, processing and packaging.
This is a very impressive and professional setup with clean rooms and 24 climate controlled fruiting rooms providing an amazing production capacity of 3,000 kg, according to the HeveaGro web site.
They have a great introduction video that we have embedded here.
